The Black Grouper is one of the best known of the large group of perciform fish called groupers. Other common names include black rockfish, bonaeci arara and marbled rockfish.

The black grouper is a large marine fish, growing up to 60 inches in length and 220 lbs in weight.
It has an olive or gray body, with black blotches and brassy spots. The black grouper is quite tasty and an important food fish. It is fished for both sale and for sport.

The black grouper grow BIG ‘round these parts! And when you land one of these puppies, you earn it! A black grouper down in the Gulf of Mexico can weigh in at 100 lbs or more, and
while the fight isn’t as big as other fish out there, the sheer size and weight will wear you out.

lift it, you‘ll be holding the glory in your hands.
